Back at the top of 2010 Sonnyjim started what would become a four part
series entitled "The Purple Patch", a little tired of pretty boy bars from
lyrically out of shape rappers caught up in the flashing lights SJ decided it
was time to take it back to the days where emcees would drop insane blackout
verses and not come around until the venue cut the sound system off.
So that was the formula, hard hitting bars, banging backdrops and non stop quotable
after quotable. Part 1 produced by Kelakovski came out in January 2010 was an instant hit and championed by
DJ Sarah Love and received many a play on BBC's 1Xtra and overseas courtesy
of outlets like NY's Squeeze Radio.
Over the rest of 2010 SJ unleashed Part 2 (produced by Apatight) and Part 3 (produced by !llmind) leaving
the final instalment for this the Purple Patch EP; a fully mixed and mastered studio offering with all
four parts.
